Heroes:
Luke is the most ovbious hero. He defeats the dark side. I think Luke is the only one who deserves the true hero label. He had to overcome the most and stuck with fighting for what was right.
Themes:
The theme could be the good vs. evil. The would include everything from the cycle of the hero and everything that happens in the hero's unknown. There is something that starts the tension and something that ends it. Not seeing any other movies I'm not really sure how it was started. But I know it was ended with Luke killing the Emperor of the evil side.
Another theme could be death and ressurection. Everybody goes through a kind of transformation through it all. Luke didn't start out as the same kind a person as he ended up being. Before he didn't know a whole lot about the evil side, but he ended up being the one who defeated it.
